I think there was an excellent survey or list of areas to cover with someone in that first call back and/or emailed out as well.

It covered areas like parking, etc.

One of the big areas for missions and churches to know is...

Elderly Transport & Disability Accessibilty signage for each church.  Is the number o fhandicap parking spots sufficient?  What are the community/public transit options that work for seniors?  Carpooling and ride sharing.

More time researching streaming

Cheapest and easiest solution appears to be UStream.  Created an account and it links to Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.  Besides streaming does a record so you can easily post to FB and You Tube.  That might be too much in our case vs. sermon only recording and later video podcast.

You can broadcast with an iphone or Android phone recording locally then uploading or streaming live.

You can have password protected streams in addition to your scheduled "worship" streaming.

One possible cheap Camera & mic that people are "raving" about is the PS3 camera and a custom driver that works on the PC.

Church Signage Issue

Exterior sign age is an issue for St. A's.  Currently looking into the various options.  If we go standard wood/metal we may need a triangle or two sided option so it can be seen from traffic driving down Telegraph better.  An electronic sign at this point would be preferable as it could scroll upcoming events and say a message when services were on.

Preservation of the historic character also needs to be considered as well as an signange ordinance the city may have.  They hate electronic signs in downtown.

Email This Page/Event/Post/Sermon/Blog Entry Feature

Really want to empower web site readers to be able to easily share items on the church web site.  Sociable plug-in may do this -- but want to make sure it is clear to every visitor and attached to all types of content types whenerever possible.  So "Email This"/"Share" page (or event or news item or sermon or blog post, etc.) that triggers a normal users email mailto: function or possibly records the entry into a trackable database.

Some churches are using this to unify communications.  Not sure on the exact functionality and what if any other tools out there may already exist or might be built-into an online crm or ChMS system.  If it is just a one-way tool to post to social network sites -- there are free ones of those.

Another option for a web based community with ChMS like functions. They are trying to be more friendly/open to Twitter, etc. Some of the twitter post out functionality could be made by using the "email to post" option direct w/twitter but also with other providers that repost to multiple sources simultaneously and they too accept items via "email to post" then syndicate across multiple sites.

Once again, Church Community Builder has gone and created new, innovative technology tools that integrate their web-based church management software with the ever-changing outside world of communications technology.

Today, I helped them announce a new feature that combines text messaging with Twitter. Who would have thought? This is a great idea -I’m not sure that anyone else out there is doing this. Here are the basics:
